DESCRIPTION:Hands-On Passover Cooking Workshop with Aliza Grayevsky Somekh of Bishulim SF\nEarly-bird registration by 3/16 $150 per person; after 3/17 $180 per person | Registration required | Limited to 12 adults\nJoin Chef Aliza for an intimate\, hands-on Passover cooking workshop that explores the rich ritual and cultural diversity of the Seder table. Together\, we’ll prepare a festive Passover meal inspired by Jewish communities from around the world\, learning traditional dishes and creative contemporary interpretations along the way. \nUsing the symbols of the Seder plate as our inspiration\, Aliza will weave tradition into modern recipes for the holiday meal. Participants will cook the dishes and prepare several versions of charoset from different Jewish traditions and communities\, while discovering new spices\, flavors\, and stories from across the Jewish world. \nWe’ll cook side by side\, then sit down together to enjoy the meal we’ve prepared\, share stories of the holiday\, and connect around the table. \nThe event will take place at a private house in the El Cerrito Hills. Directions will be provided after tickets are purchased. \nWorkshop is kosher-style meat format meaning there will be no mixing of meat and dairy. The meat used will be meat that is permitted to eat\, but it will not have a kosher certification. \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE\nAbout Aliza\nAliza Grayevsky Somekh\, an Israeli educator and chef. She is an eighth-generation Jerusalemite. Aliza specializes in Israeli culture. After a long career in informal education and Israeli culture working with U.S and Israel-based Jewish organizations In 2016\, she opened Bishulim SF\, a boutique catering company fusing California ingredients with Israeli flavors.
