Welcome to JCC East Bay's hub for Jewish social life for folks 60+!

From our weekly groups and monthly programming, to our special events and holiday celebrations, we aim to provide you with meaningful and fulfilling experiences throughout the year.

Upcoming Events

Nature Walk at Tilden Park
Tuesday, March 18
12:30-3:30pm
Cost: $10 per person

In collaboration with East Bay Regional Parks, join us for a nature walk at Tilden Park! We’ll start off with a lecture from a Regional Parks Nature Specialist. You’ll have the option to walk Jewel Lake or visit Tilden Park’s Visitor Center and have a chance to meet local farm animals. Transportation is provided to and from the event.

Emergency Preparedness Workshop

In partnership with The Center for Independent Living, we’re excited to offer our second annual Emergency Preparedness Workshop. Learn how to stay safe during disasters, make emergency plans, find resources in our community, and more.

Passover Luncheon
Thursday, April 17
11:30am-1:30pm
Cost: $25 per person

Mark your calendars for our annual Passover Luncheon! Join us for a delicious Kosher for Passover meal, a text study themed around the holiday, and an opportunity to engage meaningfully with your community. Registering in advance is required.

Older Adults Book Club

Our book club will usually meet on the third Thursday of each month, typically before our monthly Nosh With Your Neighbors gathering. The group will collaborate to decide which book to read based on the members’ interests and preferences! Participation in the book club is free and folks are encouraged to join at any time.

Nosh With Your Neighbors

Each month we invite you to join us at the JCC East Bay to enjoy lunch with your community! This is a BYOL (bring-your-own-lunch) with delicious dessert, coffee, and tea provided.

Weekly Groups

Intermediate Mah Jongg
Mondays
1 – 4pm

This group is for newer players or those wanting to practice playing in community. Join for good company and a delightful game of Mah Jongg!

Yiddish Conversation
Wednesdays
10:30 – 11:30am

Participants will take turns reading various Yiddish passages aloud. Keep the art of the Yiddish language alive through laughter and connection!
