JCC Kids’ Club Camp

Program Overview

JCC Kids’ Club Camp offers an intimate day camp experience where campers can discover new interests, test personal limits, and most importantly, have fun.

In this exciting and safe environment, campers will make new friends and develop meaningful relationships with their counselors. We aim to give campers a sense of self, in a whole new way, as they experience a wide breadth of activities, sports, art, music, theater, science, and much more!

JCC Kids’ Club Camp offers an intimate day camp experience where campers can discover new interests, test personal limits, and most importantly, have fun. We aim to give campers a sense of self in a whole new way as they experience a wide breadth of activities, including sports, art, music, theater, science, and much more! 

Kids’ Club Camp is an extension of Kids’ Club, with familiar staff and expanded use of the school campus. Based at Joaquin Miller Elementary School, Kids’ Club camp is open to all children in grades K-6.

  • *NEW* Early bird enrollment discounts

  • Campers are grouped by age, and will spend most of the day in their home groups. Throughout the day campers will also have choice periods to explore individual interests.

  • Lunch and snacks are provided by OUSD Nutrition Services daily; campers may bring their own lunch and/or snacks.

  • Weekly themes will give campers an exciting opportunity to be their favorite superhero, or make music by building their own instrument, or test out their skills as an Olympian!

  • Campers will also visit Joaquin Miller Park and explore experiences in nature.
Schedule, Fees, & Discounts

If you meet the certain criteria for Free or Reduced Price Meals (FRPM), Foster, Migrant, Unhoused, and/or English Language Learner, you will not be responsible for the tuition and any other fees.

  • Super Early Bird: Register by January 19, save $60/session!
  • Early Bird: Register by March 15: save $30/session
  • Enroll in all 7 weeks: save $180
  • $25/week sibling discounts
  • All discounts are combinable

Camp Hours

  • Camp only: 9:00am – 3:30pm
  • AM Care: 8:30 – 9:00am
  • PM Care: 3:30 – 5:30pm
  • Closures: June 19 (Juneteenth)

Camp is available in 2 or 3 week segments, or come for all 7 weeks, and receive a discount!

Session 1: June 3 – June 14 (2 weeks)

Session 2: June 17 – June 28 (2 weeks)
Camp only: $800

PM Care: $225

Session 3: July 8 – July 26 (3 weeks)
Camp only: $1,250

Financial Aid

The JCC East Bay is committed to making the JCC Summer Camp accessible to as many families as possible. If your child(ren) needs reduced fees to attend camp, please apply for financial assistance by completing this secure form. Please enroll in camp before submitting your FA application. If you are unable to accept your financial aid offer, all deposits will be refunded. You may direct questions to Aaron Atlas, CPO, aaron.atlas@jcceastbay.org. We will get back to you within two weeks.

FAQs

Where is JCC Kids’ Club Camp located?

We are located at Joaquin Miller Elementary School (5525 Ascot Dr., Oakland, CA 94611).  

Will transportation be available?

Kids’ Club Camp is drop off and pick up only at JM. If you are interested in camp in Berkeley, please enroll in Camp @ JCC Berkeley.

What should my child bring to camp? And what about lunch and snacks?

Campers should bring a backpack with a full water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. A change of clothes and a light sweatshirt is always a good idea. Please label everything. Lunch and snacks are provided by OUSD Nutrition Services daily, but campers may bring their own lunch and/or snacks, if desired.  

What type of training will staff receive?

Prior to camp, all staff will attend a full schedule of in-person training on all policies and procedures including: age appropriate programming, health and safety related procedures, training in effective communication, building community, inclusive programming, and much more.

How many campers will be in each group?

Groups may include up to 16 campers, with 2-3 counselors at any given time.

Can we pick a friend for our camper to be with in a group?

Having friends at camp depends entirely on the registration and notice given – we will do our best to accommodate. Please email summercamps@jcceastbay.org with your request as soon as possible.

What about refunds?

Cancellations must be made by May 24, 2024 to receive a refund (less $100 non-refundable deposit per week). Payments will not be refunded for changes and cancellations made after the May 24 deadline.
