Aging as a Spiritual Journey

Wednesday, February 10, 2027 at 3:00 pm through 5:00 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until Wednesday, February 24, 2027

Researchers have found that spirituality is one of the key factors in aging well, contributing to greater optimism, resilience, and even longevity. Aging as a Spiritual Journey explores what it means to grow older, including questions of identity, change, loss, meaning, and purpose unique to each of us.

The course also examines how we approach the gift of longevity — the additional 10–30 years of healthier life many people now experience. Topics include changing roles and identities, reinvention, ageism, fear, mindfulness, neuroplasticity, and, above all, the gifts of aging: not what we accomplish despite aging, but because of it. Research increasingly suggests that older adults are often more content, less stressed, and better able to navigate life’s challenges than younger generations.

Designed to be highly interactive, the course draws on current research as well as participants’ own experiences. Sessions incorporate discussion, short videos, music, poetry, and reflective exercises.
